These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Snail Walk mobile game and the snailwalk.app website (together, the "Service"), operated by LOVE AND COFFEE LIMITED ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 09859856), registered address 13 Grangemouth Road, Coventry, United Kingdom, CV6 3EZ.
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Snail Walk is
Snail Walk is a walking survival game. Your real-world daily step count, read from your device's health platform, advances your character along a single shared path. Some of your in-game progress may remain on the shared path and be visible to other players. The game and its rules may change over time, and it is provided for entertainment.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate others.
- You may play as a guest, but guest game data may be lost if you reinstall without linking an account.
3. Health data and your responsibility
Snail Walk encourages walking but is not a medical, fitness, or health service and does not provide medical advice. Step counts come from Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect and may be inaccurate or delayed. Do not over-exert yourself to play. You are solely responsible for your own health and safety, and you should consult a doctor before changing your activity levels. Do not use the Service while doing anything that requires your full attention.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- cheat, falsify step data, or use bots, scripts, or automation to gain steps or distance;
- reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to disrupt the Service or its servers;
- use offensive, hateful, infringing, or unlawful display names, avatars, or content (these are visible to other players);
- access or use other players' accounts without permission;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, and may remove or reset display names, avatars, or game state that violate them.
5. Purchases, subscriptions, and refunds
- In-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google and are subject to their terms. Refunds for in-app purchases are generally handled by Apple or Google.
- Website pre-sale purchases (early-access packs) are processed by our payment provider, Creem, acting as merchant of record.
- Early-access packs and digital perks are sold on the basis that access is granted during the beta and/or at launch. Beta timing is not guaranteed and may change.
- Where you have a statutory right to cancel a digital purchase, that right may be lost once delivery of digital content begins with your consent. Nothing in these Terms removes your statutory consumer rights under UK law.

6. Virtual items and game content
Cosmetics, achievements, distances, and other in-game items have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are licensed to you for personal, non-transferable use within the Service. We may modify, remove, or reset game content, and we may change game balance and rules over time.
7. The shared world
Snail Walk is a single shared world. Your display name, avatar, position, and distance are visible to other players. You grant us the right to display this in-game content to other players as part of operating the Service.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its code, art, characters, text, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.
9. Availability and changes
We provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss arising from inaccurate step data or your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. Some provisions (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) survive termination.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere you may benefit from mandatory protections of your local law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where changes are significant, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
